Prasar Bharti (Broadcasting Corporation of India) invites applications from eligible officers to be considered for appointment as Director General, Doordarshan. The appointment shall be on deputation basis in the revised pay scale of Rs. 24050-650-26000 and will be based in New Delhi.
Officers of All India Services or Central Services, Group 'A', holding analogous posts on regular basis OR with three years regular service in the pay scale of Rs. 18400-22400 or equivalent and empanelled as Joint Secretary to the Government of India with three years regular service and having experience in Media or Mass Communication or Public Administration are eligible to apply.
Period of deputation (including period of deputation in another ex-cadre post) shall not ordinarily exceed THREE years.
The age of applicants for deputation should not exceed 55 years. (relaxable up to TWO years in deserving cases with the approval of the Central government).
Departmental candidates shall also be considered for appointment and in case any of them is selected, the post shall be deemed to have been filled in by 'promotion'.
