Applications are invited from Indian Nationals born on or after 01/01/1981 for drawing up a Pool of Law Researchers to assist Hon'ble the Chief Justice and Hon'ble Judges of Delhi High Court on a consolidated remuneration of Rs. 12,000/- per month, initially for a period of six months, extendable upto two years. The engagement of Law Researcher will be purely at the discretion of the concemed Hon'ble Judge. Shortlisted candidates may be called for an Interview on a date to be intimated later.

The candidate must be a Law Graduate enrolled with the Bar Council of Delhi. Selected candidates, if enrolled with the State Bar Councils will have to get their enrollment transferred to Bar Council of Delhi. Applications giving necessary particulars i.e. (1) Name of the Candidate (2) Father's Name (3) Date of Birth (4) Present Address (5) Permanent Addres (6) Telephone No. (7) Fax No. (8) E-mail ID (9) Educational Details (Details of Institutions of study - School, College & Law, year of passing Law Degree and Marks) (10) Registration Number allotted by the Bar Council of Delhi/ State (11) Professional details (details with regard to areas of personal interest) Experience, if any, and (12) Two references (necessary) alongwith letters from them.

The application must be accompanied with two recent passport size photographs duly attested by a Gazetted Officer alongwith attested copies of testimonials, sent personally or by Registered A.D. post with the words "Application for Law Researchers" superimposed on the envelope, addressed to the Joint Registrar (Establishment), Delhi High Court, Sher Shah Road, New Delhi-110003, so as to reach his office on or before 25/09/2008. Applications which are incomplete, unsigned and received after due date, shall be rejected summarily and no enquiry will be entertained in this regard. .

It is made clear that the above engagement is of a highly confidential nature and is a full time job, purely contractual in nature. It would not confer any right of permanent employment in Delhi High Court. It is also made clear that a Law Researcher will not be entitled to practice or take up any other assignment during the period he/she works as Law Researcher in this Court. A Law Researcher will not appear before the Hon'ble Judge to whom he/she 'has been attached for a period of one year after the conclusion of his/her term of engagement and he/she will not appear in a case handled by the Hon'ble Judge to whom he/she has been attached, regardless of whether the Law Researcher worked on that case or not during the period he/she worked as a Law Researcher with the Hon'ble Judge. Any ethical breach by a Law Researcher will be viewed very seriously and will disentitle the Law Researcher from receiving a certificate. If it becomes necessary, the breach will also be reported to the Bar Council of Delhi.

The candidates selected will be required to work even at odd hours and should bear this in mind while applying for the post.
