Applications are invited from the candidates to fill-up below mentioned 20 temporary posts [16 male (SC-02,OBC-04, UR-08), 04 female (SC-01, OBC-01,UR-02)] of Assistant Sub Inspector of Police (ASI) in the pay scale of Rs. 4550-7220 with usual allowances, as admissible, from time to time, under the Rules:
- Education : Graduation
- Age : 18 to 25 years as on 01/01/2007. Relaxation as 5 years for SC and 3 years for OBC candidates.
- Height : Male - 5'-7", Female-5'2"
- Chest : Male- 33" (with expansion of one and half inch), Female - Not applicable
Last date of receipt of application forms will be 31/03/2007 (5 PM). Applications on the prescribed proforma should be deposited in Police Lines, Sector-26, Chandigarh from 01.03.2007 to 31.03.2007 (except on Gazetted Holidays & Sundays) from 10 AM
to 5 PM. Government Servants should apply on the prescribed forms through their Heads of Department. Application forms can be obtained on payment of Rs. 100/- from Police Lines, Sector-26, Chandigarh upto 31/03/2007. Application forms can also be obtained by post by sending a self addressed & stamped envelop of 23 cm x 10 cm along with demand draft of Rs. 100/- in favour of Chairman, Selection Board, Chandigarh Police payable at Chandigarh. Request for application forms should be addressed to the “Dy. Inspector General of Police-Cum-Chairman, Selection Board, Police Headquarters, Union Territory, Sector-9, Chandigarh”. While requesting for application form, candidate must indicate the category ( i.e General or SC or OBC or Ex-serviceman) for which application form is required as there are different forms for different categories. In case the request is without indication of any category, the application form meant for general category will be supplied through post. The candidates desiring to send the application forms through post must ensure that the same, duly filled in, in all respect should reach the office of the “Dy. Inspector General of Police-Cum-Chairman, Selection Board, Police Headquarters, Union Territory, Sector-9, Chandigarh” on or before 31/03/2007.
