The Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology (IITM) is a registered society as an autonomous Institute fully funded and administered by the Ministry of Earth Sciences, Government of India.

The IITM is looking for recruiting bright talented candidates of Indian origin for the following positions to do research in the areas of (i) Development of a Dynamical Prediction System of Seasonal Mean Monsoon Rainfall, (ii) Extended Range Prediction System for Active and Break Spells of the Monsoon, (iii) Science of Climate Change and Climate Variability, and (iv) Interaction between Tropical Convection and Environment.

• Scientist E : 03 Posts, Scale of Pay : Rs.14300-18300/-, Age : 50 years as on December 1, 2007
• Scientist D : 06 Posts, Scale of Pay: Rs. 12000 -16500/-, Age : 45 years as on December 1, 2007.
• Scientist C : 06 Posts, Scale of Pay: Rs. 10000-15200/-, Age : 40 years as on December 1, 2007
• Scientist B : 05 Posts (2-UR, 2-OBC,1-SC), Scale of Pay: Rs. 8000-13500, Age : 35 years as on December 1, 2007

Application on plain paper neatly typed indicating the name of the post together with detailed CV (age, qualification, experience, mailing address, email & contact no., etc.) accompanied with copies of all relevant certificates should reach the Administrative Officer by 22nd January, 2008.
