Union Public Service Commission (UPSC)

UPSC invites application on prescribed forms by 15th May 2008 (22nd May 2008 for the candidates from far flung areas) for various posts in various Government of India Ministries and Departments in the prescribed format. The post are :

1. One Professor (English) in National Defence Academy, Khadakwasla, Pune, Defence Ministry, Pay Scale : Rs. 16400-22400/-+Special Allowance of Rs.150/-), Age : 50 years, Qualification : Ph.D. Degree in English with 10 years teaching experience at Post Graduate level and/or Research/ post Graduate research guidance experience OR Ph.D. degree in English or equivalent with 15 years teaching/research experience at under graduate level.
2. Five Junior Scientific Officers (Electrical) (SC-1,OBC-2) in Directorate General of Aeronautical Quality Assurance, Defence Aeronautical Quality Assurance service, Civilian in Defence Ministry, Pay Scale : Rs. 7500-12000/-, Age : 30 years, Qualification : Degree in Electrical Engineering.
3. Three Assistant Professors (Surgery), Specialist Grade-II of CHS in the Teaching Specialist Sub-Cadre (SC-1,OBC-2) in Health & Family Welfare Ministry, Pay Scale : Rs. 10000-15200/-+NPA, Age : 50 years for SC and 48 years for OBC, Qualification: A recognised medical qualification (ii) Post Graduate degree qualification in the concerned speciality i.e. MS (Surgery), MS (General Surgery), Speciality Board of Surgery (USA), FRCS or equivalent and 3 years experience.
4. One Assistant Professors (General Medicine), Specialist Grade-II of CHS in the Teaching Specialist Sub-Cadre (ST-1) in Health & Family Welfare Ministry, Pay Scale : Rs. 10000-15200/-+NPA, Age : 50 years, Qualification: A recognised medical qualification (ii) Post Graduate degree qualification in the concerned speciality i.e. MD (General), MD (General Medicine), MD (Med. & Therapeutics, MRCP, Speciality Board of Internal Medicine (USA) or equivalent and e years experience.
5. One Specialist Grade-II of Public Health Specialist, Central Health Service (Public Health Specialist Sub-Cadre) in Health & Family Welfare Ministry, Pay Scale : Rs. 10000-15200/-+NPA, Age : 45 years, Qualification: A recognised medical qualification (ii) Post Graduate degree/ Diploma qualification in the speciality of Public Health i.e. MD (Social and Preventive Medicine)/ MD (Community Medicine), Dr. P.H. or any other equivalent degree and 3 years experience.
6. Twenty one (21) Geophysicists (Jr.) in Geological Survey of India (SC-3, ST-4,OBC-5, UR-9) in Mines Ministry, Pay Scale : Rs. 8000-13500/-, Age : 35 years, Qualification : Master's Degree in Physics or Geophysics or Geology/ Applied Geology or equivalent OR Diploma in Applied Geology of the Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad (ii) 2 years field experience of Geophysical work
7. Fourteen (14) Drugs Inspectors in the Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation in Directorate General of Health Services, Pay Scale : Rs. 7500-12000/-, Age : 35 years, Qualification : Degree in Pharmacy or Pharmaceutical Sciences or Medicine with specialisation in Clinical Pharmacology or Microbiology and 3 years experience in the manufacturing or testing of Biological and special products specified in Drugs & Cosmetics Rules, 1945.
