About Visva Bharati Shantiniketan

Founded by the first non-European Nobel Laureate Rabindranath Thākur (popularly known as Tagore) in 1921, Visva-Bharati was declared to be a central university and an institution of national importance by an Act of Parliament in 1951.

The President of India is the Paridarsaka (Visitor) of the University, the Governor of West Bengal is the Pradhana (Rector), and the Prime Minister of India acts as the Acharya (Chancellor). The President of India appoints the Upacharya (Vice-chancellor) of the University.

In May 1951, Visva-Bharati was declared to be a Central University and "An Institution of National Importance" by an Act of Parliament. It was granted the status of a unitary, teaching and residential university.

Visva Bharati Shantiniketan Rolling Faculty 2019 Vacancies

1. Professor : 28 vacancies, Age : 45 years, Pay Scale :  Academic Level-14 with Entry Pay of ₹144200/- as per 7th CPC Pay Matrix 
2. Associate Professor : 44 vacancies, Age : 40 years, Pay Scale : Academic Level-13A with Entry Pay of ₹131400/- as per 7th CPC Pay Matrix
3. Assistant Professor : 01 vacancy, Age : 35 years, Pay Scale :  Academic Level-10 with Entry Pay of ₹57700/- as per 7th CPC Pay Matrix

Application Fee

Application fee for Academic Level-14 & 13A is ₹1200/- and For Academic Level-10 is ₹1000/- to be deposited to be paid through online SBI collect module under State Bank of India.  SC/ST and Women candidates shall pay only 25% of the above application fee. Physically handicapped candidates are exempted from paying the fee.

Application fees of ₹1000/- for general candidates & ₹500/- for SC/ST/PWD/EWS candidates to be paid in the Account of Director, NIT Silchar in State Bank of India A/C No. – 10521277057, IFSC Code – SBIN0007061.  

How to Apply Visva Bharati Shantiniketan Rolling Faculty Vacancy 2019?

This is a rolling vacancy for faculty recruitment in Visva Bharati Shantiniketan. The application can be submitted round the year. However, all the applications received till 20/10/2019 at 6.00 P.M. will be processed for the first round of selection. Applications received after the stipulated date will be considered for next round of selection.
