The Public Service Commission, Uttar Pradesh, shall hold a preliminary examination on 10 June, 2007 at various centres in the Districts mentioned in Appendix-1 of the complete advertisement for selecting suitable candidates for admission to the Combined State/Upper Subordinate Services (Main) (PCS) Examination, 2007. The centre of Examination, decided by the Commission, will be intimated to the candidates later by means of their Admission Certificate.

• Number of vacancies: The information regarding vacancies shall be given later though Press Communique in which the number of vacancies as per requisition received before the result of Preliminary Exam shall be included.
• Educational Qualification : The candidates must possess a Bachelors' Degree or its equivalent from any recognised University by the last date fixed for receipt of application.
• Age Limit : Candidates must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have crossed the age of 35 years as on July 1, 2007. Age relaxation as per the Govt. of UP orders.
• Fee : The fee for General and OBC candidates of UP is Rs. 230/- and Rs. 110/- for SC/ST of UP. Fee is payable to Secretary, Public Service Commission UP, Allhabad by means of Treasury Challan of Treasuries located in UP only. Candidates of outside of UP may submit fee by DD in favour of the above said.
• How to apply : OMR application forms with instructions can be purchased for Rs. 155/- for PREGEN Series (General, OBC of UP, and all candidates of other states) and Rs. 95/- for PRERES (SC of UP, ST of U.P. ) in cash through the Post Offices located at the following places, from 05th March 2007 till 01st April 2007. last date for receipt of applications. Candidates under horizontal reservation PH of U.P. and DFF of U.P. and Ex-Army personnel of U.P. shall purchase application form according to their main category.Candidates must obtain instruction with OMR application form in order to fill it up.

• Last Date: The application complete in all respects must reach the Secretary, Deptt. No. A-4/E-1/2007, Public Service Commission, U.P., Kasturba Gandhi marg, Allahabad-211018 on or before 5.00 P.M. on 2nd April March 2007 by Registered post or by hand.
