The National Institute of Oceanography (NIO), a constituent laboratory laboratory of the CSIR conducts research, condusts basic and applied research on various aspects of ocean science. NIO is looking for candidates with excellent academic qualificaions and research performance in the following field for NIO Hq. at Goa and Regional Centres at Mumbai, Kochi and Vishakhapatnam.

1. Scientist C Group IV(2) (Post No.S-101) in the pay scale of Rs.10000-15200/- : 01 post, Age Limit : 35 years, Qualification : Ph.D. in any branch of science with a thesis topic dealing with Earth Science, Ocean Science, Marine Science, Geoscience or Geology. A minimum of one year research experience in the use of chemical, geochemical, and isotopic tools to study oceanic processes.
2. Scientist B Group IV(1) (Post No.S-102) in the pay scale of Rs.8000-13500/- : 01 post, Age Limit : 35 years, Qualification : M.Sc. first class in Biochemistry, Botony or Biological Oceanography or Ph.D. in Microbiology from recognised university. One year research experience in characterisation of biomolecules from marince samples.
3. Scientist B Group IV(1) (Post No.S-103) in the pay scale of Rs.8000-13500/- : 01 post, Age Limit : 35 years, Qualification : M.Sc. first class in Electronics, or M.E. in Electronics or Physics with Electronic specialisation or Ph.D. in Electronics from a recognised university. One year research experience in the use of electronics in ocean science.
4. Scientist B Group IV(1) (Post No.S-104) in the pay scale of Rs.8000-13500/- : 01 post, Age Limit : 35 years, Qualification : M.Sc. first class in Microbiology or Biochemistry or Biological Oceanography or Botony or Marine biology from a recognised university. One year research experience in biological oceanography or Marine Biology related work.
5. Scientist B Group IV(1) (Post No.S-105) in the pay scale of Rs.8000-13500/- : 01 post, Age Limit : 35 years, Qualification : M.Sc. first class in any branch of Physics or M.Sc. in Marine Science with specialisation in Physical Oceanography or M.Sc. in Physical Oceanography from a recognised university. One year research experience in projects related to Physical Oceanography.
6. Scientist B Group IV(1) (Post No.S-106) in the pay scale of Rs.8000-13500/- : 01 post, Age Limit : 35 years, Qualification : M.Sc. first class in any branch of Physics or M.Sc. in Physical Oceanographyor M.Sc. in Marine Scinece with specialisation in Physical Oceanography from a recognised university. One year research experience in Physical Oceanography.
7. Scientist B Group IV(1) (Post No.S-107) in the pay scale of Rs.8000-13500/- : 01 post, Age Limit : 35 years, Qualification : M.Sc. first class in Zoology or Masters in Water and Coastal Management from a recognised university. Some experience in the anlysis of biological samples.
8. Scientist B Group IV(1) (Post No.S-108) in the pay scale of Rs.8000-13500/- : 01 post, Age Limit : 35 years, Qualification : M.Sc. first class in Organic chemistry or Inorganic Chemistry or marine Science with specialisation in Chemistry or Enronmental Science with specialisation in chemistry from a recognised university. One year research experience in chemical analysis of marine samples or environmental samples.
9. Scientist B Group IV(1) (Post No.S-109) in the pay scale of Rs.8000-13500/- : 01 post, Age Limit : 35 years, Qualification : M.Sc. first class in Geology or Earth Science / M.Sc. Tech in Geology or Master in Oceanography with Marine Geology or M.Sc. in marine Science with Geology from a recognised university. One year research experience in Geological Oceanography/Geology/ Marine Geology.
10. Junior Technical Assistant Group III(1) (Post No.S-110) in the pay scale of Rs.4500-7000/- : 01 post, Age Limit : 28 years, Qualification : First class Diploma in Electrical Engineering of 3 years full time duration from a recognised instituttion.
