UPSC invites application on prescribed forms by 27 December 2007 (3rd January 2007 for the candidates from far flung areas) for various posts in various Government of India Ministries and Departments in the prescribed format. The post are :
  1. One Sr. Economic Investigator re-designated as Economic Officer in the office of the Economic Advisor in Commerce and Industry Ministry, Pay Scale : Rs. 6500-10500/-, Qualification: Master's Degree in Economics or Commerce of a recognised university or equivalent, Age : 30 years
  2. Five Assistant Directors (Cost) (SC-1,ST-1) in Junior Time Scale in the Indian Coast Accounts Service, Office of Chief Advisor Cost, Indian Cost Accounts Service, Finance Ministry, Pay Scale : Rs. 8000-13500/-, Qualification: A qualification recognised for enrolment in the Register Members of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India or of the Institute of Cost & works Accountants of India or equivalent, Age : 35 years
  3. One Deputy Director of Mines Safety (Mining) in the Directorate General of Mines Safety in Labour and Employment Ministry, Pay Scale : Rs.12000-16500/-, Qualification : Degree in Mining Engineering of a recognised university/ institute or equivalent (ii) First Class Mine Manager's Certificate granted under the Coal Mines Regulations, 1957 or under the Metelliferous Mines Regulations, 1961 (unrestricted)., Experience : 7years experience in mining in large and mechanised underground mines., Age : 43 years
  4. Two Deputy Legislative Counsels (Gr.III of ILS) in the Legislative Department in Law and Justice Ministry, Pay Scale : Rs. 12000-16500/-, Qualification: Holds a Degree in Law of a recognised university or equivalent, Experience : Has been a member of a State Judicial Service for a period of not less than 10 years. OR Has held a superior post in the legal department of a State for a period of not less than 10 years. OR is a Central Government Servant who has had experience in Lagal Affairs for not less than 10 years. OR Possesses a Master's Degree in Las and has had teaching or research experience in Law for not less than 8 years. OR is qualified legal practitioner means an Advocate or a Pleader who has practiced as such for at least 10 years or an Attorney of the High Court of Bombay or Calcutta who has practiced as such for at least 8 years or has practiced as such Attorney and an Advocate for a total period of at least 8 years., Age : 50 years
  5. One Hindi Officer in the Geological Survey of India in Mines Ministry, Pay Scale : Rs. 6500-10500/-, Qualification: Master's degree of a recognised university or equivalent in Hindi with English as a subject at the degree level OR Master's degree of a recognised University or equivalent in English with Hindi as a subject at the degree level, Age : 35 years
