UPSC invites application on prescribed forms by 10th January 2008 (17th January 2008 for the candidates from far flung areas) for various posts in various Government of India Ministries and Departments in the prescribed format. The post are :

1. One Sr. Scientific Officer, Grade-I in Gentex (Mechanical/ Metallurgical Engineering) in the DGQA, Department of Defence Production, Defence Quality Assurance Service, Defence Ministry, Pay Scale : Rs. 10000-15200/-, Qualification: Degree in Mechanical/ Metallurgical Engineering from a recognised university or equivalent, Experience : 4 years practical experience in Production/ Development/ Quality Assurance in the relevant field., Age : 40 years
2. Two Assistant Professors (Gastro-Intestinal Surgery), Department of Health, Specialist Grade-II of Central Health Service (Teaching Specialist Sub-Cadre) in Health and Familiy Welfare Ministry, Pay Scale : Rs. 10000-15200/-+ NPA, Qualification: A recognised Medical qualification (ii) Post Graduate Degree qualification in the concerned Super-Specialist i.e. M.Ch. (Gastro-Intestinal Surgery), MS (General Surgery) with 2 yers special training in a department of Gastro-Intestinal Surgey) or equivalent., Experience : 3 years teaching experience, Age : 45 years
3. Six Research Officers (civil Engineering) in Central Water & Power Research Station, Pune in Water Resources Ministry, Pay Scale : Rs.8000-13500/-, Qualification : Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognised University or equivalent., Age : 35 years
4. Three Assistant Director, Grade-I (Production and Development) redesignated as Assistant Director, Grade-I (Technical) in the office of the Textile Commissioner, Textiles Ministry, Pay Scale : Rs. 8000-13500/-, Qualification: Degree in Tectile Manufacture/ Textile Technology/ Textile Engineering from a recognised university or equivalent., Experience : 3 years experienc of work connected with management/running of textile units, of which one year's should be in spinning and weaving department OR 3 years experience of work in a Government Department or a Semi Government Organisation with duties relating to development of Textile Industry including one year's practcal experience in spinning and weaving department of textile., Age : 35 years
5. One Senior Lecturer (Forensic Medicine) in the Government Medical College and Hospital, Department of Medical Education and Research, Chandigarh in Chandigarh Administration, Pay Scale : Rs. 14300-18150/-+NPA, Qualification: A basic university or equivalent qualification included in any one of the schedules to the Indian Medical Council Act and must be registered in State Medical Register or Indian Medical Register (ii) MD (Forensic Medicine) from a recognised University/Institution or equivalent, Experience : 3 years teaching experience, Age : 53 years
