In May 1951, Visva-Bharati was declared to be a Central University and "An Institution of National Importance" by an Act of Parliament. Applications are invited for the posts mentioned below in the prescribed scale of pay with allowances and benefits as per university rules.

• Professor : 05 posts (Rs.16400-22400)
• Reader : 08 posts (Rs.12000-18300)
• Adhyapika (Lady Incharge), Mrinalini Ananda Pathasala : 1 post (Rs.8000-13500)
• Lecturer : 28 posts (Rs.8000-13500)
• Assistant Lecturer (Special recruitment drive for SC / ST / PH) : 10 posts (Rs.6500-10500)

Fee : For pay scale of Rs.8,000-13500/-and above Rs. 200/- and (2) For pay scale up to Rs.6500-10500/- Rs. 100/- SC/ST candidates will be required to pay only 25% of normal application cost. Physically handicapped candidates (handicapped 40% or above) are exempted from payment of fees for forms.

How to Apply : Application on prescribed form along with 9(nine) photo copies of properly filled in application form for the pay scale Rs.6500-10500/- and above and one set of true copies of testimonials, Certificates and two recent passport size Photographs duly attested should reach the Registrar, Visva-Bharati, Santiniketan, Dist-Birbhum, Pin- 731235. The last date for submission of application is on or before 28th August, 2008.
