  19. who is equal to whom cant be judge by the type of education but by the knowledge so whether its a mcom in finance or mba in finance just fight in a competition and get your seat instead of fighting here.
nd i know what ca and icwa level is but my question is if they r making mba hr eligible then why not mba finance, post r same, pay scale is same than why...

  22. Dear all, let me want to put an end to this useless debate. Do you know in general what is the Standard of MBA in our country. Any Tom-Dick Harry passing from any University is standing in queue for job. Except IIMs and few Business School quality of MBA is very poor. And if you are MBA from IIMs or like then there is no scope for you in PSU. You deserve better pay package. MBA person don't know much about accounting, Accounting standards by ICAI, Income Tax Laws, Custom, Excise, Company Law, Other Commercial Laws, Financial Management. Do they? If they know this then very elementary. CA/ICWA qualification is not a cup of tea for everyone. It require lot of hardwork and luck. So no comparison at all. So far MBA HR is concerned, In India there is no bigger qualification for HR. Thus it is being considered. I suggest all guy who are having MBA Finance qualification that you just self judge yourself, you will get answer. I am Chartered Accountant working with NTPC Group

This is to inform you that there is a misconception between MBA and CA/ICWA.MBAs deserve to get a job in a corporate because they think from the broad point of view not only they have the technical knowledge but also overall running of the business.Without an MBA A business cannot run and if there is no business then there is no point of recruiting CA/ICWA.And more importantly they have the communication skill, managing ability which a CA/ICWA lack very much.So please tell your respective institute to groom in those sections and then compare.MBAs study quite hard they need to study more than 32 subjects in just two year and that is not a piece of cake for your informations bunch of fuckers.

  29. Is there any relaxation in percentage for HR as i got 64.44% and i belongs to SC Category ....can i apply for HR position please seggest....

    ReplyDelete
  30. Dear Friends it's not about which qualification is better , every qualification carries it's own merits & demerits .
In India the supply of workforce is so high that the companies are forced to recruit members of those institutes only which offer specialization with low passing percentage ...Passing percentage of CA was only 23% whereas passing percentage in ICWAI (Now ICAI-CMA) was at drastic rate of 4.75% ...even then both the institutes together can supply adeqaute workforce to meet market demand ...well 4 years course having 3 years of practical training cant be compared with 2 years MBA including 2 months of summer internship ...Harsh reality is that MBA stands nowhere in comparison to CA or CMA(prvsly cwa)...but when u see global standards even bachelors in Finance is getting 5 times more than we professionals are getting here in India....So, never take MBA as valueless ,it's not your fault it's socio-economic factor which is decreasing the value of mba...

I am sure you must say no. because it is not the proper to judge the person unless the concern mba finacne personal call for interveiw and give them opprtunity to present themselves.

  35. Dear All,

I know my question regarding the ability of MBA Finance has hurted a lot. But let me tell you the fact. There are N number of Institutes offering MBA/Finance degree with guaranteed passing the course by hook or crook. I never challanged the ability of MBA/Finance who have passed from Good B-Schools. Rather they deserve better pay packages in Corporates. But other than those the quality of MBA/Finance is well known. I was also supposed to do MBA in 1999, But due to ill health problem couldn't give written test. After 3-4 months I received call from different institutes that based on your application I was selected for MBA Course on payment basis of Rs.25000/- per semester. Then I joined CA. Now my question- Can any body guarantee passing CA course? Admission is very easy but exit is very tough. So all my younger collegues are advised to judge yourself and give best answer to yourself. Passing MBA from wrong institute or university may harm their career.

    ReplyDelete
  36. when u throw a stone in any direction u will get an mba gratude there...mba standard is very poor in india except in iim and certain other premium bschool

    ReplyDelete
  37. then why these WRONG INSTITUTES are there in the society which are harming the student's career.... is there no use of taking MBA degree from them

  42. Who told CWA people are knowing costing standards and not an MBA. We all misunderstand the qualification with knowledge. You NTPC guys are having entrance test and an interview to select a canditate right. Then why you are more bothered on MBA-Finance or ICWA&CA. Idiotic CWA...

    ReplyDelete
  43. Hi friends lets be clear about one thing first, we are discussing about the criteria for application and not selection, if CA/ICWA guys are smart enough, then slug it out in open competition and beat the MBA-fin guys.
As far as Pass percentage of exam is considered as mark of intellect, then its lower for CA/ICWA because only losers opt for these degrees in the first place. These are the guys who got low marks in high school, and were pushed into a non-science class, so that they can pass in boards. Globally, top financial investors, investment bankers and even entrepreneurs are MBA Fin guys.
Anyways the point is, if you are so smart, then put the hardest fucking paper you can dream of, and let the competition decide whose the fucking best.
And I am seriously amused by the fact that GM of NTPC has so much free time to actually post something anonymously here. Must've been a loser CA/ICWA :P

  44. To KRK ,

By your way of putting your thoughts you seem to be very desperate. But showing your helpless n desperate situation wont chaange the reality. Toppers of Commerce students join CA Courses alongwith regular BCom. I think you havent been to any DU Comm College

  45. there is no point in arguing who is best or not. the point here is ntpc is recruiting and they r the supreme authority of eligibility criteria etc.dont waste ur time by arguing with the unseen, rather try ur best in the where u r studying now. dont forget ntpc is not the single company in the market place there r several other company who r recruiting mba -finance

    ReplyDelete
  46. FOR EXECUTIVE AGE LIMIT SHOULD BE 20-25 ONLY AND IT IS OF 29 IN NTPC ,PLEASE REPLY

    ReplyDelete
  47. Dear KRK,

You are right when you refer that globally financial investor, banker etc prefer MBA Finance. But dear its not all MBA Finance Person who find place in those institution. I already specified that its the MBA from good Business Schools who deserves even better pay package than CA/CWA. Rest MBA Finance person are no where in competition in comparison to CA/CWA. And so far your assessment regarding Commerce student is concerned, I must say its very poor and pathetic. You are not aware that these days Commerce is one of the most liked stream by the toppers of High School. Even getting admission in good commerce college is very tough and require very high percentage. Now let me tell you one fact- you will not find any person who is sitting jobless after passing CA Exam (Unless Almighty decide something else). Person will immediately find job either with the Audit Firm or Industry. So unemployment is almost nil. There are only 140000 CA in India and you better know that more than this MBA Finance are graduating every year. So no comparison. And instead of arguing you should understand that each organisation decide the qualification based on job requirement. And if one of Maharatna of Govt of India is selecting such qualification then there must be merit of that qualification.

So try to accept the truth of life rather than showing frustration. We CA/CWA do agree that MBA/Finance from Good Institute have very good skills and competence. But for others???? you know very well.

  48. hi
is a CA degree from ACCA(Association of Chartered Certified Accountants)eligible to apply this post

    ReplyDelete
  49. I feel Mr. NTPC guy is right at knowledge aspect. If NTPC allows MBA in exam...Since MBA know nothing about accounting they would naturally fail, however if they qualify then it means they have done their homework. I agree CA/ICWA is tough and hardwork. But MBA(F) isnt cakewalk either. Many PSUs visit various colleges and pick these so called MBA(F) and I tell u what they are performing at par or even better than proud CAs/ICWAs. Also it always about the person when it comes to performance. You find aberrations everywhere. Agreed there are no. of MBA colleges with ordinary repute, however assuming you wont find a good professional from there is bit too harsh. Afterall people from villages, hindi medium students do crack IAS, IPS and other big exams on the face of these proud CAs working and boosting about their knowlege.

I wish all the best to candidates.

  50. hey guys don't worry abt MBA fin,
gud thing is CA,CMA r performing well at Lower levels..they r just Accontants.

MBA r for management involving in decision making not mere accounting.
ie why NTPC, ONGC..r recruiting MBA fin for corporate set up E3 scale from national institutes.

Any way MBA Fin should deserve eligibility in all PSU exams
    proceed legally.....

  52. A preson cannot be judged by just clearing a exmas of Mulktiple choice questions type... Just clearing 323 papers in 2 yrs are anough for a good quality... Mat Ask Mr. Sen why B.com from DU are more better than B.com from Bihar or UP Unicersities. Altough they all have studuied the almost same papers... Do u have any questions.... If u have some working experince then some MBA colleges will give u exempotion in 1-2 semsters. Is this possible in CA exams? U will have to do 3 yrs traing even if u have 30 yrs of practicalk experinece... MBAs do this ? Here MBA instututes dont mean IIM and some other good colleges. Just because of speaking a good language or sepaking so fast and flkuently does nt give a guarantee about his knowledge and technically sound...

  57. I am wondering why respectable accountant from NTPC has dragged a comparison between MBA finance and CA/ICWA . Question is Simple Why MBA finance Not eligible. I think give them a chance to compete in the written examination, Who is better, result would decide......If FEW Senior Professionals of NTPC are reading it...it is a request to give it a thought...

    Regards,
    HR Professional
    From A PSU

    ReplyDelete
  58. I am also a HR professional in a PSU and I think that NTPC person is not wrong in comparison. A company/organisation can fix the criteria for selection based on the job requirement. So far I know regarding the Finance Department of PSUs the job demands deep knowledge of Accounting, Audit & Taxation where CA/CWA are better than MBAs. Its the MBAs who dragged a comparison between them sighting non-eligibility of MBAs. Why Chance to MBA Finance only if chance is to be given then M.Com, MBF, CMA etc are also having core competency in Accountancy, Finance etc. Its only the matter of choosing the best qualification meeting the best requirement. I simply ask my HR Colleague whether you will judge MA in Human Resources at par with MBA HR. I think you will not. So question of best qualification for best fulfillment of the skills required for the job is the only thing which is material.

    ReplyDelete
  60. I agree with the HR professional from PSU..Question is indeed very simple, If written test is one of the main criterias for selection, why not give chance to MBAs to compete and then decide??
Someone above has said that CA’s have to do 3 years of training and do MBA’s do this??? Please don’t give this crap…We all know there are so many so called CA’s out there who just get the certificates of having done internships and computer trainings without doing even a single day of training…I am working in a PSU bank and have to talk to CA’s of various companies every day…and sometimes its such a difficult task for me to explain things to them regarding the data which is needed for analysis of balance sheets…It’s a fact..There are many MBA (Finance) who will have better knowledge than CA’s and many CA’s who will have better knowledge than MBA (Finance) ..So, everyone should be given a chance…
Some Mr. /Ms. Anonymous has got all his/ her ideas wrong…140000 CA passing every year and all in jobs…..Well, have you done a survey or something or everyone has informed you about their placements????…There are so many so called CAs who have to work in very small set ups (Officially called Audit firms, and obviously we all know how many clients and what type of work is there in these audit firms) just because they can not get a proper job…I myself know 2-3 people among my friends and they say that they are doing the ‘job’ just for the sake of it…..
I guess it is just your insecurity because of which you have made such comments.....
