About Staff Selection Commission (SSC)
Staff Selection Commission (SSC) does recruitment for Class-III and Class-II staff vacancy in Central Government departments and organisations. It has headquartered in Delhi. Staff Selection Commission works under the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, Government of India as an autonomous organisation.
The fact that bulk of the staff of the Government at the Centre and in the States belonged to Class III and Class IV categories, Staff Selection Commission has given responsibility to make recruitment to various Class III (now Group “C”) (non-technical) posts in the various Ministries/Departments of the Govt. of India and in Subordinate Offices. The functions of the Staff Selection Commission have been enlarged from time to time and now it carries out the recruitment also to all Group “B” posts also.

The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) holds an Open Competitive Computer Based Examination for recruitment of Stenographer Grade 'C' (Group 'B', NonGazetted) and Stenographer Grade 'D' (Group 'C') for various Ministries/ Departments/ Organizations in the Government of India annually. In this recruitment examination of Stenographers, only those candidates who have the required skills in
stenography are eligible to apply.

Rs. 100/- to be paid through BHIM UPI, Net Banking, or by using Visa MasterCard, Maestro RuPay Credit, or Debit cards or in cash at SBI Branch by generating SBI Challan. No fee for SC/ ST/ PH/ Ex-Servicemen and Women candidates.
