Indian Forest Service Examination 2024 by UPSC
The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), Dholpur House, New Delhi will hold a preliminary screening test for the Indian Forest Service (IFS) Examination 2024 for recruitment of the Indian Forest Service Officers. (Advertisement No. 06/2024-IFoS)
The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) will hold a Screening Test for selection to Indian Forest Service Examination, 2024 through Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination, 2024 which will be held on 26th May 2024.
The pattern of the Indian Forest Service Examination 2024 has been changed and candidates for IFS Examination 2024 need to appear in the Indian Civil Service Examination (Preliminary) 2024 for the same. The Main Examination is likely to be held in November 2024.
Indian Forest Service Examination 2024 details
Post Vacancies: 150 approximately (PH-09)
Age: Not less than 21 years and not more than 32 years as of 1st August 2024. The upper age is relaxable for SC/ST/OBC and certain other categories of candidates to the extent specified in the Notice.
Educational Qualification: Bachelor's degree from any recognised university with at least one of the subjects namely Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, and Zoology or a Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Forestry or in Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
Physical Standards: Candidates must be physically fit according to the Regulations given in the notice.
Number of attempts: The maximum number of attempts permissible to different categories of aspirants, who are otherwise eligible, will be as (i) General Category - 6 attempts, (ii) OBC - 9 attempts (iii) SC/ST - No limit
Plan of Examination: The Indian Forest Service Examination will consist of two successive stages (i) Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination (Objective type) for the selection of candidates for the Indian Forest Service (Main) Examination; and (ii) Indian Forest Service (Main) Examination (Written and Interview) for the selection of candidates for the Indian Forest Service.
Application Fee
Candidates applying (excepting Female/SC/ST/PH candidates who are exempted from payment of fee) for the Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination are required to pay a fee of ₹100/- either by depositing the money in any Branch of SBI by cash or by using net banking facility of SBI or by using Visa/ Master Credit/ Debit card.
