SBI PO Online Recruitment 2026 Selection Process
Any eligible job seeker candidate looking for a career as a Probationary Officer (PO) in SBI in the year 2026 is required to register online at the SBI website for the PO Recruitment Process 2026-2027. The SBI Recruitment Examination of PO 2026 will be held in three phases, i.e. Preliminary examination (Objective Type of 100 marks and Online), Main examination, and Group Exercise & Interview.
The candidates who are shortlisted after the SBI PO Preliminary examination 2026, which will be conducted in August 2026, will have to appear for the Main examination (Objective Type of 200 marks and online) in the month of September 2026.
The candidates shortlisted after the main examination will be subsequently called for Group Exercises & Interview in October/November 2026.
SBI Probationary Officer (PO) Recruitment 2026-2027 Vacancies
- Probationary Officers (PO): 1500 vacancies (Regular-1446, Backlog-54) (UR-588, EWS-144, OBC-390, SC-234, ST-144) (PWD-61), Qualification: Graduation in any discipline from a recognised University or any equivalent qualification recognised as such by the Central Government. Those who are in the Final year/Semester of their Graduation may also apply, Age: 21-30 years as of 01/04/2026, relaxation in age for reserved category candidates is as per rules, Pay Scale: ₹48480-85920, the candidates will start with basic pay of ₹48480/- (with 4 advance increments) in Junior Management Grade Scale-I (JMGS-I)
Selection Procedure
The selection for Probationary Officers will be done through a three-Phase process -
- Phase-I: Preliminary Examination consisting of an Objective Test for 100 marks will be conducted online for 1 hour duration
- Phase-II: The Main Examination will be conducted online and will consist of Objective tests for 200 marks and a Descriptive test for 50 marks of 3 hours and 30 minutes
- Phase-III: Comprises (a) Psychometric Test (b) Group Exercise, (c) Personal Interview - of those candidates who will be shortlisted for Phase-III

An application fee of ₹750/- (No fee for ₹120/- SC/ST/PWD candidates) to be paid online.
