The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) will conduct 16 XVI (16th ) Online Common Recruitment Process (CRP), Preliminary and Main Examination for the 6715+745 (Tentative) vacancies for the year 2027-28 for selection of personnel for Probationary Officers (PO)/ Management Trainees (MT) and Specialist Officers (SO) Government Job vacancy posts in participating Public Sector Banks or any other Financial Institution.

Any eligible candidate who aspires to join any of the Participating Banks and Financial Organisations  as a Probationary Officer (PO)/Management Trainee (MT)/Specialist Officers (SO) or in a similar post in that cadre, is required to register for the 16th Common Recruitment Process (CWE PO/MT/SO-XVI)

About IBPS 

The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) is an autonomous body set up to implement a recruitment process for assessing and selecting the right and suitable candidates for the Indian Banking Sector, particularly Public Sector Banks and Financial institutions.

IBPS gives its recruitment services to Public Sector Banks, SBI, RBI, NABARD, SDBI, Co-operative Banks, LIC and Public Sector Insurance companies, Regional Rural Banks and some other PSU and Government organisations.

About IBPS Bank PO/MT XVI 16 CRP

IBPS conducts the Common Recruitment Process (CRP PO/MT/SO) for the selection of Probationary Officers (PO)/Management Trainees (MT) and Specialist Officers (SO) in interested Public Sector Banks once every year. 

Any eligible candidate who aspires to join any of the 11 PSU Banks as Probationary Officer/ Management Trainee/ Specialist Officers or in a similar post in that cadre, is required to register for the 16th Common Recruitment Process (CRP PO/MT/SO-XVI) for the year 2027-28. 

The 16th PO/MT/SO examination has two tiers: the online Preliminary examination will be held in August 2026, and the Online Main examination will be held in October/November 2026. 

Candidates who will qualify in the Preliminary examination and are shortlisted will have to appear for the Main examination (to be conducted online), and the shortlisted candidates of the Online Main examination will subsequently be called for a Common Interview to be conducted by the Participating Organisations and coordinated by the Nodal Bank.

IBPS XVI PO-MT-SO CRP Online Preliminary Examination

The 16th PO/MT examination is of two tier i.e. the online examination will be held in two phases, Online Preliminary in the month of August 2026 for PO/MT vacancies. The main examination will be conducted in October and November 2026.

Application Fee

An application fee of ₹850/- (₹175/-  SC/ST/PWD candidates) to be paid online between 01/07/2026 and 21/07/2026. The payment can be made by using Debit Cards (RuPay/Visa/MasterCard/Maestro), Credit Cards, Internet Banking, IMPS, Cash Cards/ Mobile Wallets/ UPI by providing information as asked on the screen.

IBPS XVI 16th Bank PO/MT Examination Structure

The XVI (16th) CRP for Bank PO/MT Vacancy will have an Examination Structure like this in the image below. Online Preliminary Examination will have 3 subjects having 100 questions of English Language, Quantitative Aptitude, and Reasoning Ability, with a total of 100 marks of one-hour duration only.

The Online Main Examination for 16 XVI 16th IBPS CRP for PO/MT Exam will have 5 subjects: Reasoning, General/Economy/Banking Awareness/Digital/Financial Awareness, including RBI Circulars, English Language and Data Analysis & Interpretation of 200 marks of 170 questions with an additional 30 minutes for English Language (Essay & Comprehensions).
