About SSC

Staff Selection Commission (SSC) do recruitment for Class-III and Class-II staff vacancy in Central Government departments and organisations. It has headquartered in Delhi. Staff Selection Commission works under the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, Government of India as an autonomous organisation.

The fact that bulk of the staff of the Government at the Centre and in the States belonged to Class III and Class IV categories, Staff Selection Commission has given the responsibility to make recruitment to various Class III (now Group “C”) (non-technical) posts in the various Ministries/Departments of the Govt. of India and in Subordinate Offices. The functions of the Staff Selection Commission have been enlarged from time to time and now it carries out the recruitment also to all Group “B” posts also.

Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) are those police organisation working under direct control Ministry of Home Affairs, Govt. of India for maintaining internal security in the country.
